Montreal launching pilot project to allow dogs on city buses in 2026

Montreal is launching a pilot project allowing dogs on certain buses during off-peak hours. Starting this spring, pet owners can bring their leashed dogs on board after 8:30 a.m. and before 4 p.m., and after 6:30 p.m. on weekdays. The initiative aims to test public acceptance and assess the feasibility of expanding pet access on public transport. Feedback from passengers and dog owners will be collected to evaluate the program's success and inform potential long-term policies.
