Quebec's health minister is promising to cut wait times for orthopedic surgery by nearly 100 days as part of a plan to keep hundreds of retired or soon-to-retire nurses working beyond their planned departure dates. More than 620,000 Quebecers are currently waiting for surgery, including more than 85,000 who have been waiting for more than six months. The plan aims to reduce wait times for orthopedic surgery to an average of 164 days by the end of December.
