Opinion: Canada needs an architecture policy

Canada needs a national architecture policy to create coherent, sustainable, and culturally rich urban spaces. The absence of such a policy leaves planning fragmented and unequal. An architecture policy would guide the development of cities, ensuring that new public spaces and buildings are well-designed and reflect Canadian values. It would also promote innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity, aligning with environmental goals and fostering community interaction. The article argues that implementing a national strategy would also enhance quality of life and support the architecture profession in Canada.
