Housed in a sprawling former needle factory along the Rivière aux Brochets, Bedford Lofts is a creative hub where artisans, entrepreneurs, and small businesses converge. Transformed by Pierre Laflamme into 100,000 square feet of studios and workshops, the space now hosts a vibrant mix of professionals—woodworkers, ceramists, distillers, and quilters—collaborating under one roof.
The annual spring open house, returning this May, showcases the talent that defines Bedford Lofts. Visitors can browse works from over a dozen creators, from modern quilts to handcrafted ceramics and locally distilled spirits. The event isn’t just a marketplace; it’s a chance to glimpse the creative process and connect with the makers behind the work.
Beyond the individual studios, the central gathering space, marked by its industrial beams and aged wood floors, serves as a venue for markets and community events. Plans for a nonprofit aim to preserve the building’s character while opening its doors even wider to the public. At Bedford Lofts, collaboration isn’t just encouraged—it’s built into the walls.
