L’Euguélionne, Montreal’s only feminist bookstore, is as much a community hub as it is a literary destination. Named after a Martian heroine from Louky Bersianik’s novel, this Centre-Sud shop offers an unapologetically curated selection of feminist, LGBTQIA2S+, anti-racist, and anti-colonial literature. With shelves lined with everything from essays and poetry to children’s books and graphic novels, it’s a space where underrepresented voices take centre stage.

Beyond books, L’Euguélionne is a nexus of creativity and activism, hosting workshops, reading circles, and roundtable discussions. The shop also features zines, posters, and handmade goods from local artists, fostering a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere. Run as a non-profit solidarity co-op, it’s a place where specialized booksellers can help track down rare finds or recommend works you won’t see in mainstream stores.
