Perched 300 metres up on Frelighsburg’s famed Côte de la Joie, Joy Hill Vineyard is a celebration of terroir, experimentation, and the art of winemaking. Founded by Justine Thérien and Julien Niquet, this vineyard balances traditional techniques with a forward-thinking approach to sustainability and biodynamic practices.
Spanning multiple slopes and enriched by a rocky mix of sand, clay, and schist, the vineyard thrives on diversity. With 37,000 vines planted, Joy Hill produces wines from grüner veltliner, gamay, chardonnay, riesling, and more—all chosen for their adaptability and drinkability. Their philosophy favours natural, low-intervention methods, yielding unfiltered, additive-free wines that evolve with each vintage.
Visitors are welcomed to their airy boutique and terrace, where they can taste not only Joy Hill’s vintages but also their new négociant label, Pastoral. Pair your glass with charcuterie from Scotstown, cheeses from Missiska and La Station, or a handful of Miett chips.
