Reimagined from what was once Martha Wainwright’s Ursa, P’tit Ours keeps the original venue’s warmth intact while shifting gears under new leadership. The 70-capacity room on Parc Avenue is now run by the Casa del Popolo and POP Montréal crew, with booker Palden Khe-Changsoo handling programming. After Wainwright passed the baton in late 2024, the transition was quick—no relaunch, just the handover of keys and a calendar already filling into spring. The focus is on small-scale shows with a big emotional footprint: solo sets, singer-songwriters, book launches, flamenco nights, and the occasional dance party. Casa dropped the weeknight booking fees and lowered weekend costs, making the space more viable for DIY events and indie artists. With a grand opening slated for April 5, the venue is becoming a rare holdout for accessible, community-minded programming at a time when too many small stages are vanishing. P’tit Ours isn’t just carrying on—it’s filling in the gaps.
